From first sign-in to your first Monday.
What happens when you connect metisora, and what your Salesforce admin needs to do. Connecting takes minutes. We set up your Scopes with you.
Before you start
- Salesforce Sales Cloud with API access.
- Enterprise, Unlimited or Performance Edition. Professional Edition works only with the API add-on.
- A Salesforce admin who signs in first.
- Ideally someone who can see all Opportunities: metisora reads with the access of the person who connects it.
- Field history tracking on Opportunity.
- Switch it on for Stage and Amount, and for your own deal-size field if you use one: Setup → Object Manager → Opportunity → Fields & Relationships → Set History Tracking. Salesforce records changes only from the day tracking is on, so do it today, even before you decide.
- Your Org ID and your admin’s email.
- Send both to us. The Org ID is in Setup → Company Information. We enable your org for metisora, and the email decides who accepts the terms for your company.
Step by step
Connect Salesforce.
Your Salesforce adminYour admin opens app.metisora.com, signs in with Salesforce and allows metisora access. Nothing to install: no AppExchange package, just basic configuration in your org. metisora reads and never writes back.
Accept the terms.
Your Salesforce adminChoose what metisora reads.
Your Salesforce adminOpportunities with their stage and amount history are always read. Accounts, Contacts, Contact Roles, products, activities and Campaigns are your choice. The default timeframe is the last 48 months, and the first extraction runs in the background.
Define your Scopes.
Together with usFiscal year, Sales Hierarchy, the stages of your Opportunity process, and the fields and filters each Scope uses. We do this with you in an onboarding call.
Give your team access.
Your Salesforce adminEveryone signs in with their own Salesforce user, and your Salesforce-admin decides who may. Until these three steps are done, only Salesforce admins can sign in.
- Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage: find metisora and click Install.
- Setup → Manage Connected Apps → metisora → Edit Policies: set Permitted Users to “Admin approved users are pre-authorized” and save.
- Create a permission set, add metisora under Assigned Connected Apps, and assign the permission set to everyone who should use metisora.
Every Monday.
Automaticmetisora refreshes from Salesforce each Monday and keeps a snapshot of the week. Nothing to do on your side.
Click paths follow Salesforce Setup in English.
Questions your admin will ask
- Do we need to install anything?
- No package and no code. In step 5 your admin installs metisora as a connected app in Setup, and that only decides who may sign in.
- Who should connect metisora?
- A Salesforce admin who can see all Opportunities. metisora sees only the records that person’s Salesforce user can see. If they leave, another admin reconnects.
- Can we start with a sandbox?
- Not yet. metisora connects to your production org, read-only.
- A colleague cannot sign in. Why?
- Usually step 5 is missing: metisora is not installed yet, or the colleague does not have the permission set.
- Can we revoke access?
- Any time, in Salesforce: Setup → Connected Apps OAuth Usage → metisora → Block. metisora can then no longer read anything.
